Snowpack
Surface crust, quickly changed to soft surface. Shallow refreeze that was still slightly supportive by 10:30 a.m. on east aspect near 13,000 ft.
Avalanche
Loose Wet avalanche triggered on a ski turn stepped down to a Wet Slab avalanche breaking behind skier. Crown was ~1 ft deep and ~150 ft wide. Sliding surface was the old snow and new snow interface. East aspect near 13,000 ft at 10:30 a.m. Poles and sunglasses lost in slide. No injuries.
