Weather
Snow showers on and off throughout the day. Wind were calm and temp mild. Around 1 Pm there was a short break in the clouds you could see blue skies.
Snowpack
Significant snow has fallen in this area over the past 48 hours. Winds were strong out of the southwest yesterday loading easterly slopes. Winds were so strong guessing lots of snow sublimated. The new snow was as deep as 80cms. The new snow sluffed on steep slopes, but very little slab quality was observed in the areas traveled. *Important to note that I did not travel in many areas were snow has not been affected throughout the storm.* For a brief moment I could see into the alpine and the west face of Ballard looked stripped. Will be interested to see how yesterdays wind event affected areas near and above treeline.
Avalanche
An R3 D2.5 was observed in the Grandfather on Wasatch Face. Estimated it went something over the weekend.
