Toured up to Decoeli pass following creek. Lots of widespread whumphing/settling along first 2-3 km of creek bed. Approx 20 cm of new snow (from last few days) on top of wind blasted concrete along lower section of creek. New snow became much thinner due to wind scouring in the subalpine/alpine but surface snow still remained quite skiable. Some variable sections of breakable crust at upper sections. Evidence of older large cornice failures on east aspect of creek gulley (west side). Upper elevations slopes (higher than we skied) were broadly wind scoured down to bare rock. Temps remained just below freezing all day. Wouldn’t be Decoeli without a stiff 20-30kmh wind most of the day. A 7/10 on the Decoeli scale overall, keeping in mind that this is a 4/10 relative to other typical zones.
