Skied up Iago to Great Bear north into the bowl. The snow was crusty near summit and exposed south aspects. Leeward terrain had appox 20cm soft snow.

Weather

Day started with broken clouds with no precip. Overcast set in with good visibility. Cloud ceiling lowered and flurries began in late afternoon.

Snowpack

Snow pit located just N of Great Bear Weather Station, 1720m, NE aspect, 30° HS 175cm Snow Profile Density: 170cm to 140 4F 140 to 118 1F 118 Crust P 118 to 70 1F 70 to Gnd P ECTM14 down 23 produced first signs of failure partly propagating across the column. The full extended column showed resistant planar failure on 22nd tap. Layers below produced no results. HS in N bowl was about 200 to 220cm
