20 cm of fresh powder in Log Cabin parking lot had us feeling optimistic. As soon, as you punched above the tree line, Strong Nothern Wind (30-40 km/hr) with small snow transport resulted in wind hammered slopes and variable surfaces from thigh deep pockets of powder to mostly bullet proof crust made for some less then ideal turns. The powder in the trees was pristine, but tough to justify laps in the dense trees around log cabin.
