We dug two quick pitts at the Carnarvon col at 2510M NE aspect, 33 degrees, The upper hole was just below ridge line and the second was same aspect but below the ridge wind effect and more representative of the entire slope although similar elevation. The upper pit had CT8 SC in new snow at 24cm and CT16 SP down 40cm on presumptive Mar. 6 layer. The lower pit had CT8 SC in new snow at 20cm and CT23 down 40. We felt the moderate hazard seemed well localized to immediate lee aspects. Ski quality is good to excellent with slight sun effect below 2100M and corn on the lower angle runout slopes.
