We went up so you don’t have to. Nothing even close to skiable until 1950. Top of Balu pass varied between 40-50cm Rain runnels were significant and unpleasant, and could be seen to the top of Balu ridge near the base of 8812. Crust started at 2050 ish, and got significantly thicker the further you went up. At 2075 crust was close to 5cm thick. Unless you want wet feet, and want to take your skis for a hike, I’d wait for another good storm to roll in.
