Hot at Hankin!

Today we skied at Hankin. The skin track up to the hut is very firm and slippery and can be difficult in some sections. At Tree line and above snow in shaded areas has remained cold and is still providing good ski quality. The snow surface has been faceting and old winds slabs have been braking down, improving the ski quality. Solar aspects have been receiving a lot of sun and have formed a melt freeze crust. There has been multiple loose wet avalanches to size 1.5 out of steep south facing terrain in the previous few days.
