Snowpack

13 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours at Telluride Ski Area. Similar in Ophir. Warm day started to wet the snow surface where slopes faced south. Noticeable crust under recent storm snow on southeast aspects below treeline. Numerous loose sluffs produces larger soft-slab avalanches on most aspects near and above treeline. Southerly aspects produced larger avalanches running upwards of 1500 vertical feet.
