Weather

major wind event in the alpine. 30-40 steady for at least 8 hours. North winds transporting snow on most crests ridge or peak. High 27 and few clouds. no Precp. 5-20 at TL. Snow at Treeline as wind effect as well. No much wind BTL

Snowpack

Two Pits same el. 11,900ft. E and North. Both pits have similar structure. North Aspect: Surface form DF (wind effected) 0-35cm DF F=>1F cohesive slab. 35-50cm 1F=>P mixed forms DF and FC 1.00mm. 50cm-90cm 1F FC 2mm. 90-110cm (ground)1F-K FC 2.00mm not quite advanced to DH. The only noticeable difference for the East aspect pit was at the 35cm interface was buried 2mm surface hoar and was reactive with hard compression.
