Weather
Mostly cloudy, cloud ceiling around 13,500'. Relatively warm temps and pretty calm winds.
Snowpack
Did not dig any pits. A few inches of new snow refreshed the snow surface and made for some decent turns. Probably not enough new snow in my opinion to really drift and build new slabs or increase stress on older slabs yet. Not enough wind for snow transport while we were touring this afternoon either.
Avalanche
No avalanches, cracking, or collapsing was noted on this tour. We were in really highly trafficked and beat down areas of the pass though so I am not sure that what we observed this afternoon was reflective of other Front Range areas or other areas of the Berthoud pass area that see less traffic.
