Snowpack
New snow from Monday's storm: avg. ~8" with drifts up to 2' deep. Some thin (4"-6") windslab sitting on storm snow along ridgelines and above treeline. Sections of these localized slabs popped out under skier weight in some locations. In less exposed areas, it was just new snow on the settled old snow surface. New snow easily sluffed under skier weight on shady steep slopes below treeline. Cold temps keeping snow from settling much. Also, SLOW skiing due to COLD temps!
