Snowpack

skied NE below TL. consolidated upper snowpack with ski pen only 2-3". This is still resting on facets from early season, but the upper slab has strength. Had to skadaddle so no time for a pit, but saw or felt no signs of instability where we skied. Once in the main Irene's gully, I skied up onto one of the sunny slopes and it had lost all its strength. I collapsed through to ground with skis on. Depth was only 40-50cm. After that I did not want to venture onto any more of those slopes since I was at the bottom of them in a gully.
