Gusty winds late morning, w S1 snow showers (graupel & other rimed crystals) developing by noon and quickly ramping up to S2 or more for an hour or so. Winds and snow tapered off and clouds mid afternoon, then another less intense round of snow showers late afternoon. Some valley fog and dropping temps mid afternoon.
Snowpack
Near treeline, T-8cm new snow on supportable crusts sunny aspects and NSF northerly aspects, with some thinner, grabbier crusts on E and W slopes. Pole tests showed slab 1+ m thick, progressively harder w depth.
Avalanche
1 natural sluff of similar size on NE facing slope about 10200 feet.
