Weather
Weather: Scattered to broken cloud clover. Short pulses of light snowfall beginning mid day, with less than 1" of accumulation. Light to moderate winds, variable directions. No snow transport.
Snowpack
On above-treeline NE and E aspects, the most recent snow ~3", has all faceted above the 3/30 dust layer; no slabbiness. Widespread but shallow sluffing in the surface facets. On crossloaded SE and S aspects above treeline, frozen melt-freeze crust, about 1-2" thick, cap a 1-3" thick layer of facets over the 3/30 dust layer. Dust is starting to emerge on isolated parts of the slope and at lower elevations. Below treeline on E aspects, corn skiing softened up around noon, with 1" of ski pen. I didn't dig, but probing it felt like wet grains to the ground.
Avalanche
Avalanches: No recent avalanches observed, but plenty of older wet loose slides on NE to E aspects Near treeline on Schuykill Ridge; limited vis of Ruby Range but saw a few older wet loose on E, SE, S above treeline. All of these were D1 or D1.5 in size, probably occurred 4/4.
