Weather

Intermittent snowfall was observed throughout the day. Winds were moderate out out of the NW. Temps remind cold. Beautiful, stormy, what February used to be like day.

Snowpack

*NOTE: Areas traveled are continually impacted by side-country traffic. Deeper snowpack is not as "wild" as areas further away for the ski area.* Up to 20 inches of new snow was observed on East facing slopes below treeline. The new snow easily sluffed off steep slopes. Soft Slab avalanche quickly broke apart as they moved downhill. A mid-storm layer was also observed in the snow, but wasn't supportive. The new snow was observed to be light and dry, and was bonding poorly to preexisting surface. In this area no avalanches stepped down below the new snow.

Many Sluff avalanche observed on slopes steeper than about 35 degrees.
