Snowpack
East highway slopes mostly stripped near the roadway. Higher in paths areas are cross loaded form overnight easterlies. Small wind drifted areas ~30cm deep) were easily triggered on steep east slopes and entrained snow as they moved down slope. bonding to old snow surface was poor. On below treeline east slopes, the old snow surface consisted of a 5-7cm mfc crust capping 10cm of moist snow that quickly transitioned to 1F dry rounded grains. Average height of snow at ridge top was 200cm.
