Snowpack

We collected a number of observations from below, near, and above treeline on northerly aspects. At all locations, the entire snowpack (ranging in depth from 8" to 20") is faceting. Most facets at the surface are fist hardness, 1 -1.5 mm in size. This layer is fairly uniform and widespread. Midpack facets were generally fist to four finger in hardness. We conducted stability tests in a location with a stronger midpack but found no propagation potential.
