Snowpack
New snow was wet by 10am. Below treeline, found about 12" of snow above wet-snow grain layer you have been referring to. Got an easy shear on a 25 degree slope on this. snowpack was moist much further down, but not a lot of free water moving, appears must be draining at the bottom. At treeline on a E-NE aspect @ 11300', found a winter snowpack with about 8-14" of new that had some wind effect to it. Quite a few layers with light crusts above the wet-snow grain layer. Skied north facing trees and got a small wet slab about 8-10" to release on a 35 degree rollover
