Pleasantly surprised to find deep powder turns on Elk. The day started with thick cloud from valley to summit, but lifted by 1pm to above island peaks. Winds were calm in the morning, picked up to 40km/h gusts mid day, and back to calm by 2pm from the North. Remotely triggered one small sz 0.5 slide on the ridge around 1550m on east aspect from 10m away. 10m long with a 8cm crown and slid 10m. Suspect wind loading. Snowed ~5cm from 10am-1pm down to 1000m. Snow depth @ 1350m: 2.35m @1000m: 1m
