Yak peak

At all elevators, snow was wet and heavy. Lots of pinwheeling and solar sloughing; trees dropping loads triggering same. Hard crust 10cm deep in the alpine, but not below.

Bluebird day

Heavy and wet with a shallow crust at higher elevations.

Loose wet slab loosed when I skied across a steeper convexity. Skied it out; no harm, no foul. The buried crust in upper treeline and alpine was reactive, but the minimal snow overtop limited slide size. No crust in evidence in lower, shaded, or below treeline.
