Babines-Silver king basin

Overnight trip up Feb 1-2 to L’Orsa Cabin in Babines. Approx 25+ cms new snow. No observed recent avalanche activity in the Silverking Basin despite new snow and wind loading.

Moderate to strong winds above tree line from morning of Feb 1 for most of the day. Light below tree line. Winds mellowing out Feb 2.

~25 cms snow from storm jan 31-Feb1 at treeline. 5 cms more Feb 2. Nice powdery snow in protected areas below tree line, heavily windswept at higher elevations.
