Watch out for touchy wind slabs on N and NE aspects. Significant cycle from earlier this week on those aspects, although many more precariously locates for triggering. Skied deep NW aspects to avoid the wind slabs and deep persistent slab problem. No windslabs were found on the pitches we skied.
Weather
Calm morning turned to light - moderate wind around noon. Wind transport by the end of the day was from the SW and S, observed wind slabs formation on N and NNW aspects. Temperatures were cool, and steady.
Avalanche
Observed many size 1 - 2.5 avalanches throughout the alpine in Hankin today. Observed on E, NE and N aspects as expected. One significant slide was noted on the east side on Hankin peak proper (south of cabin bowl) which was approx a 2.5. We found sudden planar hand shears and shooting cracks while accessing on micro terrain on N NE aspects.
