2 easy taps at north aspect tree line made sudden shear that ski cut/triggered a 1.5 class avalanche (crown:100mX40 cm deep)

Followed a treed shoulder to treeline at seaton basin 18 km east of mo town. whumping on snow pillows on lee side trees. Did a compression test 1.5 m deep to lower pack. @ 2easy taps made sudden shear in one finger hard slab down 40 cm. snow failed on surface hoar crystals on crust at interface of last storm snow. pit dug at crest of tree line open treed bowl, ski cut crest of bowl releasing a 100meter crown 40 cm deep in open trees. 1,5? class avalanche ran to upper run out. stayed in bigger treed pillow lines below tree line. good skiing.
