Beautiful pow-in-the-sun day out ….. Saw no recent avalanches, had no reactivity skiing 35 deg slopes, no significant results in a hasty pit at 1900m on an east aspect, no signs of instability. Snowpack depth 130 cm at 1900 m, 90 cm at 1500 m. Weather was sunny (without surface affect, except on steep solar aspects), clear, cool, and calm all day. The cool overnight temps, clear sky, and calm had promoted surface hoar formation, as well as near-surface faceting ……. great fast skiing !
