Weather
Sunny and warm, 35 degrees at the closure gate. Cloud cover began to increase from the west to about 40% by the time we left at 11:00.
Snowpack
I was able to observe northeast facing slopes along Richmond Ridge from the valley floor. Snow cover becomes less continuous near 8500 to 9000 feet. The shady north facing slopes at 8500 hold about 15 cm of snow that is comprised of 2-3 mm depth hoar crystals.
Avalanche
Avalanches were previously undocumented from the March 2019 cycle. Dates and many details are estimated. At least three large avalanches ran from the southwest face of Green Mountain into the Lincoln Creek drainage clearing large swaths of timber and placing jackstrawed timber along the Lincoln Creek rd.
