Snowpack

Snowpack is isothermal at this location and water has penetrated to the ground. Ice masses and perc columns throughout. Strong over weak layering with F-hard snow at the ground under a P-hard slab. Notably, this is one of the few areas in the Brooklyns that has not been cleaned out by avalanches at some point this season. Higher in the paths the steep, rocky slopes appear to be holding a lot less snow in general, and are much less likely to have the basal weak layer due to activity early in the season. Nevertheless, this structure exists in isolated areas across the slope and will continue to be a concern with the next warm-up.
