Snowpack
We didn't start our ascent until 11 (am work to be blamed, not sleep) @ 8200'. W and SW were staying surprisingly cool and supportive. We stayed clear of the south although uphill travel was still possible, even midday. All surfaces were moist, not wet. We descended WNW, from 10,500', on firm to corn conditions. The egress back to the car was thankfully mank free. All and all, the snow is holding up well at lower elevations in the Gore. We saw very little wet activity on any aspect besides Old Man's in East Vail proper.
