Bitter cold, cloudy majority of the day with winds picking up in the afternoon from the north but with the welcome arrival of some sun. South slopes near treeline were not actively loading (yet).
Snowpack
25-30cm of new low density snow since 12/30pm that fell seemingly side up and bonded well to the previous snow surface. No storm slab instabilities noted. E BTL CT26SC broken fracture ~60cm from surface just above dust layer. S Near treeline was not actively loading and no wind slab formation with scattered and moderate winds from the north mid day. New snow bonded well and sits on a non reactive crust layer near the ground. Wind loading likely to increase overnight with ample low density snow on North. From the breaks in the clouds, no avalanche activity seen on the north side of the battleship area.
