Weather
Windy, with moderate to strong southwest winds drifting snow. Steady snowfall and dark obscured / overcast skies.
Snowpack
Probing on a north-facing relatively sheltered slope revealed a 115-120cms slab above the previously documented depth hoar. The snow depth on this slope was about 150cms. I dug on a southwest-facing slope and found 86cms of snow with a distinct layer of near-surface facets buried 46cms below the snow surface. This layer produced a moderate to hard propagating result in an extended column test (ECTP18 down 46 cms on FCsf .5mm). I think this layer was buried on December 23, 2021.
