Avalanche

Surface sluff and isolated slab avalanche. The slab(s) were thin, but combined to generate a fair amount of snow. Rider fell, unrelated to the avalanche, was then pushed/carried 100’ or so down slope, coming to a stop as the terrain benched out. East facing, 40 degree slope at its steepest point. Would rate < R1/D1. Rider was not buried or injured.
