Sunny but strong wind blowing snow out of trees and off ridge tops.
Snowpack
About 4” of new snow from the night before. Fairly fluffy but not well bonded to the settled layer. We noticed a lot of slipping on the interface when we were skinning up and small steeper test slopes produced some small results on the layer, although without much energy.
Avalanche
Saw a small avalanche along the ridge in a small steep area.
