Avalanche

A natural avalanche occurred on the southeast face of Leahy Peak failed sometime between January 5 and 6. The avalanche did not propagate more than a hundred feet wide or so but ran more than a thousand vertical feet. The avalanche failed on the new/old snow interface and did not step down to any deeper buried weak layers.
