There is a widespread surface hoar event observed on the surface of our snowpack. The hoarfrost crystals are very big, up to 2 cm in some spots. I observed surface hoar is open spaces between 8K and 11K on the SW-SE facing slopes we skinned on. There did not seem to be as much/any surface hoar in dense trees.
