Snowpack

On a northwest facing slope at 10,600 feet, the total snow depth was 70 cm. The bottom 20 cm was the October 3mm depth hoar layer with 50 cms of right side up, 1 finger to fist + rounds. The mid-pack was separated at 39 cm from the ground with a visible but unreactive buried surface hoar layer. An upright layer of 3-5mm surface hoar layer coats all visible snow surfaces. Extended column tests produced propagating results at the depth hoar layer at 15 taps. ECTP15
