Sunny through high thin clouds, warm, light northwest winds.
Snowpack
About 50% batting average for deep rumbling collapses when we left the skin track. Not quite as reactive as days prior, but no less concerning when entire slopes are dropping and booming, with cracks running 100's of feet wrapping around terrain features.
Avalanche
Saw numerous D2's that ran from mid-week storm. One natural D2 that ran during the day on a sunny and rocky east facing slope. I didn't get a photo of this one, but realized that it ran during the day when reviewing photos from the AM when this slide was not present. Several avalanches illustrated the layer cake of weak layers we've got right now. The upper weak layers of Surface Hoar will become reactive with lighter loads, likely on Sunday into Monday. I expect an avalanche that initiates higher in the snowpack will step down to other weak layers once in motion, entraining more volume to near the ground.
