Weather

Near the Butler Gulch Road ascent at 11,300 feet on a Northwest facing slope of 27 degrees, the snow was coming down very lightly. Wind with gusts to 12 mph were coming through the valley. It was very overcast. The air temperature was -1 degree Celsius.

Snowpack

There is not a lot of snow, except on N and NW facing slopes. We found one NW facing slope at 11,300 feet of 27 degrees with a depth of 40cm, we observed a persistent slab. A CT16 up 31 cm. An ECT21 down 25 cm. The bottom layer is made up of 2mm facets, the top two layers are made up of 1 mm rounds. The bottom faceted layer is at 11cm from the ground.
