Clear skies and warm temperatures with light winds out of the SSW.
Snowpack
The snowpack on north aspects ranged from 1 to 3 feet deep. Recent winds have scoured many alpine slopes while loading adjacent ones. Areas where snow depths we're greater than about a meter deep, we found a dense and supportable mid-pack with facets showing signs of rounding at the ground. Shallower areas are beginning to weaken near the surface but were supportable to skis. Once off skis, we easily punched through to the ground in places less than about a meter deep. Southerly and westerly-facing slopes are getting thin and starting to melt out in spots. By the time we descended mid-day, southerly-facing slopes were moist near and below treeline with ski glop to boot.
