Mostly cloudy skies with brief moments of blue skies. Convective build-up could be seen around Delta, Montrose and the Uncompahgre Plateau. Snowfall was limited and squally, no accumulation.
Snowpack
Below treeline on a northwest-facing slope, snowpack depth ranged between 60 to 120 centimeters. The structure consists of a very consistent 45-50 centimeters of 5-7mm depth hoar with a 1 finger slab of varying thickness resting on top. I was unable to find a slab stiff enough to support my weight and was breaking through to the ground for the entire tour. Collapsing and whumpfing is notable when I was able to find a slab large enough for propagation. Easy to moderate propagating extended Column Tests on slopes with a slab present
