Weather

Sun popping in and out throughout the day. Mostly overcast with moderate winds and some blowing snow. Very cold.

Snowpack

No obvious signs of instability while touring on S, SE, E, and NE facing slopes below and near treeline. ECT on NE slopes NTL gave no official result, but after really wailing on it an additional 6 hits, it failed on the lowest depth hoar layer and propagated across the column (SP). Cold temps and moderate wind was keeping snow from being affected much by the sun, even on S aspects. Soft snow was found higher up on ridges than expected due to lack of strong winds the past few days. ECT on S aspect NTL failed across entire column on depth hoar layer but did not break as a cohesive slab.
