Weather

Overcast with new snow on and off through the day. Light winds.

Snowpack

Several inches of new snow had fallen through the night and into the day. Riding below treeline on a southeast-facing slope.

Avalanche

As I descended into the bowl and pushed storm sluff down, shooting cracks were visible to the right side of my sled propagating about 10ft (estimated) across. Cracks opened up to a few inches wide, and appeared to be confined to storm slab layer.
