Clear skies, temps well above freezing, light breeze from west

Snowpack

Only a superficial freeze overnight on east facing slopes near treeline. Snow was still wet from the day prior at least 12" down. Rollerballs were easy to trigger as early as 9am below treeline. A pit dug on a NNE facing slope near treeline revealed a 4ft hard slab resting above 4 inches of 4F- small grained facets. A column test failed at 30 taps; sudden planar (CT30 SP).

Avalanche

A large loose wet avalanche released just below ridgetop on a east facing slope near treeline. This avalanche released naturally yesterday (3/26) and ran approx. 2000' vertical feet.
