Avalanche

Avalanche occurred northeast of Hahns Peak Lake, on a WNW ridgeline below treeline at 8870ft. The avalanche was skier triggered while traversing across a slope just below a convexity. Skier was caught and carried. The avalanche was slow moving and arrested quickly, and the skier was able to stay above the snow. The avalanche broke at the old/new snow interface from the March 9-10 storm on a fist hard layer of facets. The slab was fist to four fingers in hardness.
