I observed from very hard and very hollow sounding wind slabs on some test slopes below the saddle between S. and N. Diamond peaks at Cameron pass. Shooting cracks were not as prominent as they were a week ago, but it seems the faceted crystals found anywhere from 10-40 cm under the surface have gotten worse than I observed them last week. To me the snowpack seemed more stable overall than last week on the slopes I tested around and slightly above tree line. Snow below tree line was all very stable and my little pole tests and baby pits reflected this. Friends of mine did an ECT that broke but did not propagate across the whole column at 17 (this was around 11,000 feet right around tree line below S Diamond). I hope this is helpful.
