Weather

S1 and obscured skies in the morning, with blowing snow. Moderate to strong winds observed throughout the day. Blowing snow at all elevations. Skies cleared to broken after 2pm, winds settled down slightly to moderate-calm at times. Cold. A feeling of wet spring in the air.

Snowpack

New snow drifted into lee easterly near treeline aspects and is 30-50cm in the deepest drifted places. The snow offered good riding conditions although it was starting to slab up throughout the day. Kicked off a small wind skin on a convexity. New snow fails easily in hand shears but did not observe cracks or whumphing in the new storm snow. South Diamond is layered with newly drifted pillowy slabs. Windward aspects are blasted clean.

Avalanche

No avalanches observed.
