Storm snow total of 8" with .6" SWE measured at the Summit over the last two days. Snow depth at the summit is just over 2' with considerably more (3.5') below the ridge on the east facing slopes of Bears Gulch. Surface Hoar observed prior to this New Years storm was not a a proud layer but rather mixed in with the low density new snow and near-surface facets. Thin windward slab / windboard was present on the top 150' of the E facing slopes into Bears Gulch with evidence of ESE winds on the ridge. Otherwise similar structure described in previous obs.
