Weather
A tr" of graupel snow fell in the morning, but clouds quickly cleared. Moderate to strong northwest winds moved snow near and above treeline.
Snowpack
The snowpack in general is weak and consists of mostly faceted snow. Very large surface hoar was observed on the surface that developed over near-surface facets in protected areas. The height of snow ranged from 50-120 cm's near and below treeline. The snowpack was deeper in flatter terrain compared to steep slopes. In the alpine northwest winds whipped any available snow off high peaks. No new avalanche activity, but the active loading made it suspect. One collapse was observed in a convex terrain feature.
Avalanche
No new activity observed.
