Clr skies, warm temps and light wind out of the south.
Snowpack
10-15 cm of wind packed snow on the surface overlying a crust facet combo. Below the crust and facet combo was a meter of faceted grains to the ground.
Avalanche
12,000 ft on east facing pocket on the backside of the entrance to the Y couloir. The skier skied onto the slope, the slab broke a foot above skier and the skier was able to ski straight ahead and step above the crown. The slide was 50 ft wide and ran ~300 ft onto a bench. There were 2-2 ft blocks in the debris. Crown depth was 10-30cm. HS-AS-D2-R2-I
