Snowpack

Senator Beck, NE,12,400'-12,800', below north side of Trico Peak. HS highly variable. Snow surface highly variable. Numerous rumbling collapses, propagating 30-100', with obvious stiff wind slabs overlying old snow. Hand shears popped out easily while isolating with a ski pole at the new/old interface.

Avalanche

Senator Beck, NE, 11,800' skier triggered soft slab, D1 on a small rollover at treeline. New/old snow interface, though new snow was soft and not obviously wind loaded as above treeline line.
