Broken clouds, light winds in afternoon.

Snowpack

2-4" new loose new snow overnight. Near treeline, sitting on dense wind drifts and slab. In sheltered areas, soft but supportable snowpack ~80 cm deep. Only a few spots in NE-facing trees below treeline that felt unsupportable. Softest, weakest snow below thin crust ~25 cm above ground. No cracking or collapsing, Brief periods of sun enough to heat new snow just below the surface on ESE slopes - potential radiation recrystallization layer.

Avalanche

2x U-SS-r1D1.5-U slabs just below cornice on lookers left edge of headwall. Fresh. Northeast-facing slope ~ 12,000 feet. Couldn't tell if someone had dropped cornice or if they were naturals.
